The Oorah Report: an in depth look into the culture of censorship.
It should come to no surprise the corporate/military/political establishment are obsessed with controlling discourse and silencing descent. The urge to censor is driven by the “Power Elite.” (a term coined by C.W Mills to describe the corporate/military/political establishment).
The power elite demand strict obedience and are obsessed with silencing any descent or deviation from the dominate view. The military elite are the professional liars, trained in misinformation/disinformation and are the ones that present the gravest of danger to society.
The goal of the power elite is to direct the danger of misinformation/disinformation upon private actors like Joe Rogan, in an effort to deflect it away from themselves. We know the real danger comes from official sources not private actors. Instead of attacking main-stream media and official corporate/political/military sources, people are joining the urge to ban, silence, de-platform and censor unofficial citizens, and private platforms. This culture of censorship is being exploited by the power elite to manufacture consent.
Polls show a majority of liberals are strongly in favor of censoring the internet.
The most professional and notorious liars are on liberal media. Fox news is pure bullshit, but liberal news is craftier. They purposely hire the likes of John Brennan CIA, James Clapper NSA, and dozens of other known liars as analysts. There is an ongoing effort of establishment to cast private actors as dangerous agents of misinformation when it is the official professionals who are the cause of death and suffering in the world.
The thing about misinformation, and its cousin, disinformation, is that they have no concise meaning other than information you don’t like. If something is true, but doesn’t fit the narrative, it will be labeled as misinformation by the establishment. Government, corporate and military misinformation is by far the most dangerous misinformation there is. Unlike the power elite, Joe Rogan is able to admit when he is wrong and commit to doing better.
If they can silence a podcaster, then no one is safe.
Corporate media led the misinformation campaign to invade Iraq, disseminated lies about weapons of mass destruction: Saddam had nuclear weapons, had ties to 9/11, was working with Osama Bin Laden etc. The establishment lied the country into war and are back again to lie us into another war. We must remember who the real purveyors of death and suffering are in the world. It’s not Joe Rogan.
As purveyors of misinformation, the establishment is more worried about narratives than they are of whether something is true or not. If it is a lie that helps the cause they’re all for it, if it is true but they don’t like the narrative, they’re against. Misinformation in this sense, it’s not so much a question whether it is true rather it is a matter of narrative.
Some recent lies coming from establishment: Russian ray guns harming US diplomats, Russians offering bounties on U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan, Julian Assange stole secrets, NSA is not spying on citizens. Those most loudly calling for censorship are the biggest purveyors of misinformation and lies themselves.
The constitution, as it is upheld, protects free speech from government censorship, even hate speech. I swore an oath to protect the constitution, and in principle, it still holds. Just because we disagree with what others say, in the public square or platform, is not an alibi to drop our principles. It is a measure of character to hold to one’s principles even when faced with people you disagree or make you feel uncomfortable. It is always important to remember that tolerance does not equate to consent.
